Choose the right app type for you:

Private Apps

A private app is used for individual and limited connections to OTTO Market partners. A new invitation link must be generated for each connection and the app is initially limited to three connections.

 

The use of a private app is therefore suitable for use during a pilot phase on the one hand and for service providers who offer individual developments on the other.

Public Apps

A Public App allows service partners to create an unlimited number of connections to OTTO Market partners. Each Public App receives a unique invitation link that can be integrated into your tool.

 

By using a Public App, you can automate the installation process and connect your e-commerce tool to OTTO Market. You will also be included as a service provider in the OTTO Market service provider network.

For which service provider are the developer functionalities right?

E-Commerce Tools

For service partners who meet the following criteria, registration in the service partner program and use of the developer functionalities is mandatory:

Software or cloud solution with marketplace integrations

Public marketing of marketplace integrations

Marketplace integrations as a standard solution

Benefit from personal support, direct information on updates, access to the portal and OTTO Market help offers as well as joint exploitation of potential.

Individual developments

Service partners who meet the following criteria can choose whether they want to take advantage of the service partner program and register as a service partner: 

Development of individual solutions for retailers

Marketplace integrations not a core business

 

 

Alternatively, you can let the merchants authenticate themselves with their own API client and you do not appear as a service partner on the platform yourself.

Ready to start in just a few steps:

1. Register and accept terms & conditions

It all starts with registering as a service partner. All we need is your contact and company details. After assigning a password, you can get started. Once your account has been activated, you can easily request the necessary (developer) authorizations in the portal. Get started with the authorization for sandbox apps and start testing.

2. Get to know the interface and estimate the workload

We want to make it as easy as possible for you to get started and get to know us. After you have requested the "Sandbox Apps" authorization, a 30-day test phase starts in the sandbox environment. Get to know the environment and estimate the effort required for integration. We will provide you with extensive documentation, examples and assistance. If you decide to integrate, complete the registration process by filling out the self-disclosure form. You will receive this at the end of the 30-day provisional access period.

3. Development and testing in the sandbox

Once registration is complete, you can start developing the desired functionalities. Depending on the scope of your service, we will arrange a kick-off meeting with you to discuss the go-live plan and provide you with personal support to clarify any questions. During development, you have unrestricted access to our sandbox environment and can test all the necessary processes.

4. Request go-live

If you are satisfied with the development and the tests, you can apply to go live and request authorization for "Private Production Apps". You will receive all further information about the process from us. Among other things, you will need to complete our data security check at this stage and provide us with more detailed information on how data security is handled in your company and your service. After successful review and approval, you can create a private app and carry out the first pilot tests in the live environment.

5. Test with pilot partners and apply for public access

With the "Private Production Apps" authorization, you can create a Private OTTO Market App and connect to a pilot partner to test whether your integration works properly. After a successful pilot phase, you can connect further partners. Private access is initially limited to three partners. Contact us if you would like to expand your access and connect several partners in Private Access.

 

If you would like to connect an unlimited number of partners and roll out your developed service publicly, apply for the "Public Production Apps" authorization and we will inform you about all further steps. Please note that Public Access requires our team to review your solution again.
